FAUX IS ABOUT TO GET THEIR PANTS SUED OFF
Rachel Maddow comes out of left field with second biggest breaking story of the week. It turns out that the Acorn faux-pimp & ho scandal was falsely reported through outright lies and blatantly misleading editing. The final investigation report is below. In light of the video release by Wikileaks earlier this week, I think we should all realize it is important to reserve judgments until we know the full story. This story was slander at the least, which may be why Maddow was able to break this story at her late hour. It would seem that all the other news stations are in for a slander law suit, especially FOX NEWS. FOX NEWS broke this slanderous story and ran it until other channels felt compelled to cover it or lose ratings. Check your sources, check your sources.

I've been mulling over what take I should have on the video posted by collateral murder. My official point of view is that it is damning evidence that demands further investigation. What is most disturbing is the gunning down of clearly unarmed humans in this video. What is missing is the larger context of how and why they came upon these persons, and why they would have thought they were armed in the first place.
blog.ajmartinez.com breaks it down perhaps the best pointing out that one individual possessed an AK and the other an RPG7. The spokesperson for Wikileaks claimed he didn't point out the RPG because he thought it could have been a camera tripod. While I am not up to date on tripods this claim is idiotic. What happens next is one of the saddest displays I have ever seen a human partake in. Rampant gunning down of injured, unknown and unarmed individuals. The long version of the video also shows the avoidable collateral killing of a bystander walking by a building targeted with hellfire missiles.
Once again while all of this is damning it may be entirely out of context. It does demand further investigation and the public should be outraged that the military would clear these individuals if there was not a full and accountable review. The cover-up clearly shows that it may not have been so thorough of a review.

Why the Tea Party is Pushing us Toward Communism

The New York Times mentioned that during a month in 2008 48% of births in the US were non-white. It doesn't take discerning eyes to notice that the Tea Party is 99.999% white and its right wing brother, the Republican Party, not much more of a rainbowesque mix. So the NYT factoid states simply that times are changing. And if these Tea and Elephant Parties can not bridge the ideological gap between shades of skin, then change has come and it is here to stay. And, the more bridges these parties burn with hateful and nonsensical actions, the more they will realize THEY are the ones on a tiny island of ideological minorities. If Republicans are to stay alive they need to get smarter, talk more about facts, and a lot less about WWJD and secret communist plots. Just my opinion...no, actually I take that back, it's a fact. And while people complain about the benefits or trouble with multi-party representation, we need to all recognize the danger of a one party system, which is becoming a looming reality if the main oppositional party erodes do to their own ideological radicalism. Under that senario the Tea Party would be correct, and implicit for the realization of its paranoid prophesy, because another name for a one party system of government is "Communism."

PANTS ON THE GROUND CAMPAIGN?
State Senator Post Video Imploring Youth to STOP THE SAG!!
If you live in New York city it is very clear that pant sag is a growing epidemic. Apparently gravity has had an ill effect on the city's youth. You will frequently see them struggling to cross a road. The first time I saw this was in Harlem almost 18 months ago. 2 Asian youths had their pants literally about two inches from the knee. Perhaps they were trend setters. Perhaps I was out of the loop. According to State Senator Eric Adams the trend has permeated African-American culture. In the video and narrating statement by the senator, he claims that the trend began in jails. One individual I spoke to, who claimed some expertise in prison culture, said that the sagging pants with overly visible underwear was a designation of homosexuality in North East prisons. It basically signifies you are some man's "bitch." So are these youth vocalizing their gay culture? Unlikely do to the prevalence of the sag among young men. It is a trend that is puzzling for its lack of functionality. A simple observation shows it as a clear impediment to a normal stride. One young man I asked said "it feels more comfortable that way"(??????). I doubt it. Of course I know women who claim high heels are comfortable, which I am sure is true after years of warping your feet to the wrong position. And on that note is where I have to ask, does the sag cause the medical problems that high heels or UGG's have been noted to? Most likely not, although I have noted a funny waddle that comes with the style. No longer is the "gangsta limp" the swagger of NYC. It is now the prison waddle. Yes, in order to keep your jeans from falling all the way to the ground you must walk a little like you just got a bad case of inner thigh burn, possibly inflicted by Bubba. Still, fashion is a fickle thing and urban fashion has always been anti-high fashion. Eventually it becomes infectious and before you know it we are all wearing some variation of the trend. As a former urban fashion fan I am simply happy it has changed at least a little in the last 15 years. Two years ago I was noting that nothing had changed much. It was still all baggy pants and oversized sports gear. Not that I am endorsing this trend.. but let's give it a minute and see where it goes before we start chastising our youth for making a statement. I am not sure what statement it makes but it certainly is hard not to stare, so if anything the statement may simply mean: hey look at me!
